Refugees from Ukraine receive a living allowance for food, clothing and other personal expenses unless they receive these items in kind or have sufficient income. Additionally, refugees living with a host family receive an extra allowance. Due to recent rises in grocery costs, the amounts for the food allowance have been adjusted to account for inflation. The extra allowance for refugees in host families has been reduced. The new amounts are based, among other factors, on the minimum cost of living according to the National Institute for Family Finance Information (Nibud). The fact sheet sets out how much living allowance refugees from Ukraine will receive as from 1 January 2025.
